who moved to Cozumel in May 2000.
We do talk about stores, restaurants and other things on
Cozumel that we see and things that
we enjoy, but we do not accept advertising in our newsletters.
Musical Instruments

The name of the store is Unahi Pax, and it's located on Ave. Juarez near the corner of Ave. 15 Norte. This is a wonderful store filled with a wide variety of musical instruments and the owners
(Manina and Alejandro) are delightful, and will make you feel very welcome. |

If you stop in, they'll be happy to answer questions about some of the unusual instruments they have including many that are indigenous to the area. They also have a collection of Mayan music. |

Ciudad de Angeles
Founded in 2002, Ciudad de Angeles is a Christian Children's home on Cozumel. The home provides a safe and healthy environment for orphaned, abandoned, abused and needy children living in Mexico.
There are about 10 mission teams that visit Ciudad de Angeles each year, with each team filling a special need for the home whether it's teaching the children, working in the community or assisting with maintenance and construction of facilities. A vital part of the success of Ciudad de Angeles is the relationship that the children form with their American sponsors.

Push Ups?

Seems the big green iguanas are still using the back wall around my house as their "roadway", and this one the other day got part of the way down before he stopped. He stayed that way for several minutes...at least long enough for me to get a
photo. Looked like he was doing push ups. |

More music
This store has a selection of both Mexican and Amercian CDs. I stop by every few months to look through the CDs, and often I do find
one or two. I've bought CDs there by Jean Michel Jarre, Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, Queen, Santana, R.E.M., Dire Straits and the Bee Gees, plus recently a couple of CDs by Marco Antonio Solis.

| A couple of new, luxury oceanfront condos are now decorated and ready to accept reservations. There is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath called Casa Abejas that is on the ground floor level with access to the pool and oceanfront area from their private terrace.

I've been stopping by this store every now and then when I'm looking for incense or scented candles. They also have a wide variety of scents that can be used as room sprays. One of my favorite scents is Eucalyptus, and they have both a spray and incense. Very hard to see the name of the store as the paint is faded, but it seems to be Alfa.
It is in the main square downtown. If you are standing by the main clock tower in the square with your back to the ocean, turn to the left and go down that street about 1 1/2 blocks. The store will be on the right side just before you get to Calle 2. It's at the corner of Ave. 5 and Calle 2 |

EXCHANGE RATE
During July, the exchange rate that we saw at the money exchanges and the banks when changing dollars into pesos on Cozumel varied from
10.5 to 10.55 pesos to the U.S. dollar.
