Cozumel Public Beaches nearest to Villas Topaz

Villas Topaz is 500 yards from the oceanfront street. There are oceanfront condos and hotels in that immediate area, 
but there is a public beach called Paya Caletita that's within walking distance.

From Villas Topaz walk about 500 yards to the oceanfront street and turn left (south). 
On the way to the public beach that is 3/4 mile away you will pass Dolphinaris where they offer a 
Swim with Dolphins program. 

Continue past Dolphinaris and you will see a lighthouse.  Immediately past the lighthouse is a public beach called Playa Caletita.

For great snorkeling there's Dzul Ha about 4 miles south of Villas Topaz and the new UVAs Beach Club that has a tour with snorkeling and transparent kayaks is about a mile farther. All of these are on the old oceanfront road. At Dzul Ha and UVAs you can get something cold to drink, there's a restaurant plus they offer snorkeling gear for rent.

Chankanaab National Park is just past UVAs Beach Club making it about 5 1/2 miles south of Villas Topaz. Admission is $15 and this is the location for the Dolphin Discovery program.  There are also excellent beaches 8 miles to the south including the new Carlos N Charlies Beach Club that still had free entry the last time we checked.

Once you've experienced those, check out the beautiful stretches of white sand beach on the eastern side of the island. It's about a 10 mile drive across the island to the other side.  If you're planning to spend the day at the beach, most areas do have refreshments available and many have restaurants. If you prefer a nice quiet secluded beach without a restaurant, Villas Topaz has 2 coolers and that you can pack up with food and drink plus take along the 2 beach umbrellas and the canvas beach mats with a back rest that we provide.
